We are absolutely delighted to say we have gained Silver accreditation from Investors in People for two awards: We invest in people & We invest in wellbeing!

As part of the ongoing commitment to our people, Wilmington has been working with the Investors in People organisation, a long-established and respected brand with a global presence.

Investors in People works in partnership with employers to help them measure, assess and develop great people practices. This is supported by a framework and a set of accreditations and awards, giving us an opportunity both to celebrate what we do well with our people and challenge ourselves to get even better.

To achieve Investors in People accreditation, colleagues were invited to share feedback with an Investors in People auditor who explored topics such as leading and inspiring people, values and behaviours, managing performance, reward and recognition, development and continuous improvement.

Our silver accreditation, (which only 20% of companies assessed achieve) means that the right principles are in place but more than that, it means Wilmington's People Team and Leaders are making active efforts to make sure that there’s real consistency, ensuring Wilmington is a great place to work!

I am absolutely delighted we have gained Silver accreditation. Our Investors in People consultant was very complimentary about our People Plan and believes we are heading in the right direction to achieve Gold or even Platinum in the future; recognising that it takes time to introduce, but importantly embed all of the good things we are delivering. Our next step is to work with the consultant to ensure we maintain and improve this standard.

To achieve Silver in our first Investors in People assessment makes us extremely proud. We are incredibly pleased with our result, there has been tremendous teamwork to ensure we have the right support in place for our colleagues; this reflects the positive work we are doing as an organisation. Moving forward, we will focus on our core values, invest in our people and strive for ongoing improvement to continue to make Wilmington a great place to be.
